All high school youth (current 8th graders to graduating seniors) are invited to join us for the annual Diocesan Youth Retreat! Join us for a fun, laid-back, and spiritually powerful weekend. The retreat will include fun games & activities (including open gym for basketball, frisbee, lawn games, board games, etc.), a lot of free time to relax and recharge, engaging talks geared toward teenagers, dynamic music, as well as spiritual encounters with Jesus Christ through Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and the opportunity for confession!
Retreat Theme
The theme for the weekend is Revealed. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus asks his disciples who people say that He is. Various answers are given including John the Baptist, Elijah, and Jeremiah. Then Jesus asks them directly, “But who do you say that I am?” We then hear Simon Peter's famous response, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (see Matthew 16) Of course, this is not something Peter could have possibly known on his own. Rather, it was divinely revealed to him by God.
In our life, Jesus poses this same question to us. "Who do you say that I am?" However, this question is not something we can answer through research, solving equations, or by human logic. Rather, the answer is found by encountering Jesus Himself and coming into relationship with Him. Thorough this, Jesus reveals Himself to us and reveals our identity in Him.
The retreat will begin around 7pm on Friday, June 27th and will conclude at noon on Sunday the 29th with Mass. The retreat will include engaging talks and witnesses geared toward high schoolers, dynamic music, and powerful encounters with Jesus Christ in Eucharistic Adoration, Mass, and the opportunity for confession. During the retreat, there will be a lot of free-time to relax and recharge. We'll also have games available and will have use of the basketball gym and sports fields.
A complete detailed schedule will be available soon!
