What is the Young Adult Summit?
The Summit is simply an opportunity for young adults from around the Diocese of Worcester to come together for an opportunity of prayer and discussion. The goal of this meeting is 3-fold:
1. An opportunity for the Diocese to listen to the input and needs of Young Adults
As many of you may know, this year Pope Francis is convening a universal synod: "For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission." The Diocese of Worcester along dioceses from around the world are gathering input from its members to pass along to the pope for this synod. As part of our Diocesan efforts, we would like to hear input, specifically from young adults, on the Church's communion, participation, and mission. This gathering will also serve as an opportunity to examine the specific needs and desires of young adults within the Church.
2. A Discussion on how those needs can be put into practice through events, programs, groups, etc.
Bases on our discussion on young adult needs, we will take some time to discuss and evaluate current Diocesan young adult offerings and brainstorm what opportunities we should be providing on a Diocesan and local level to meet these needs.
3. An opportunity to network with other Catholic Young Adults!
By bringing together young adults from around the Diocese, this will also be a chance to meet new people! We are also encouraging any young adult groups that exist withing the Diocese to join us to discuss what they are doing and promote any upcoming happenings!
